Grand cabinet collection by Mathieu Gustafsson & Niklas Karlsson
Swedish designer Mathieu Gustafsson and furniture maker Niklas Karlsson has presented the new Grand collection of cabinets, whose design is inspired from the use of woven rattan and brass clasps in vintage handbags.
The new Grand collection includes two types of cabinets - Light and Lock - which with simple design element and creativity, add a subtle glory to the surroundings.
Based on a classic handbag made by Swedish travel and accessories brand Palmgrens, the Light cabinet is made from woven rattan set into a grid of rectangles inside a white or grey birch frame.
The white pine Lock cabinet is designed with raised legs and has a brass clasp to keep the doors closed. The elegant and simple Lock cabinet can add more to the aesthetic of the home décor.
The collection will be shown at Ventura Lambrate international design show in Milan, starting from 9-14 April 2013.
