GlacialLight launches new motion sensing automatic light switch

Taiwan–based GlacialLight, a division of GlacialTech Inc, has expanded its line of lighting products with the launch of GL-PIR10C, a versatile infrared motion sensing switch.

GL-PIR10C is a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor, which can be connected to a wide range of light sources. The sensors bring about a saving in power consumption and improve security of the light, besides making the lighting operations easy. It consists of an adjustable bracket and swivelling pivot, which allows it to provide the area coverage required by the user.

The sensor features user adjustable settings consisting of sensitivity to light and motion. Suitable for indoor and outdoor usage, the sensor has an adjustable range of up to 12 metre. The GL-PIR10C is the ideal solution for situations where operating a light switch by hand is either difficult or dangerous.

The GL-PIR10C also aids in enhancing security and preventing crime as it instantly offer bright illumination. The light remains on as long as motion continues to be detected, and turns off after an operator-set interval completes.

The product is ideal for both day and night usage as it can be adjusted to detect motion over a very wide range of ambient light levels, in the range of 3 lux to 2000 lux. The sensitivity control can increase or decrease the range and motion sensitivity of the GL-PIR10C. The length of time for the light to remain on in an event of motion, can also be defined by the user. The GL-PIR10C can handle incandescent lamps of up to 1200W and 300W for energy-saving lamps.

The power consumption of the sensor is only 0.1W while idle and 0.45W, when in operation. Operating temperatures varies from -20 to 40°C. It can be installed at the height of 1.8m~2.5m.
