Fort Hood opens new stadium in Killeen

Fort Hood, a US military post located in Killeen, Texas, has opened a new $13.5 million multi-purpose athletic/entertainment venue, which is the replacement of the original Hood Stadium built in July 1951.

Accommodating a new medical centre in its surrounding, the new multi-purpose athletic/entertainment venue will offer 5,500 seats in the bleacher section located on the west side of the field. All of the seats are armchair seats with handicapped seating located along the front part of the bleachers.

In addition to that, the new facility features an athletic field and a state-of-the-art track for the athletes. The stadium also features a stage to accommodate large entertainment acts which provide recreational opportunities for soldiers and the community. The stage will have dressing rooms for the acts as well.

Additional elements include a parking lot offering 1,000 spaces, with the provision to accommodate overflow parking.
