Feadship presents 2012 Future Concept at Monaco Yacht Show

Dutch yacht building company Feadship has presented its Future Concept ‘Relativity’ at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show.

Conceptualised for a particular client, the Future Concept Relativity features detailed finishes on particular areas in its design by giving prime importance to the client privacy.

Featuring a futuristic organic drop-shaped superstructure containing different decks to meet the distinctive uses, the Relativity is a luxury superyacht designed for private use. Its layout includes an open-plan society deck, which contains a special auditorium. With plenty of outdoor space, the society deck includes the main and crew entrances, large fold-down platforms, a special infinity path around the deck, and a conference room.

One deck above is the intelligence deck, which includes six scientist ‘cells’ – rooms with clean and minimalist design to provide a distraction-free area for the intelligent people. The intelligent deck includes a dining room and lounge to provide relaxation to the guests. Above the intelligent deck, there is the family deck to provide a private place for the owner and the family. It also features three comparable VIP suites, a separate dining and lounge area, and a smoking lounge in the bow. This will provide large outdoor areas, which can offer a smoke-free al fresco experience.

The Relativity also includes a range of other facilities, like the inclusion of a pop-up wheelhouse, which retracts into the superstructure when the boat is at anchor to create a covered deck. At the press of a button, it will offer seating and dining options to the guests.

Another innovative feature of the Future Concept Relativity is the hidden tenders behind the superstructure rather than storing them in the bow or lazarette. This required an impressive launching system from an area which is not a prime space. Two 10 metre tenders are hidden in the midship’s superstructure ‘cheeks’. A part of the structure unveils the tenders and lowers them into the water.

Featuring ten double cabins, three single cabins, one officer’s cabin and a captain’s cabin, the Relativity can accommodate 25 crew members.
