EwingCole to design masterplan for new Milford hospital
Bayhealth Medical Center in the US has selected Philadelphia-based architectural firm EwingCole to develop $200 million master facility renovation plan for the Milford Memorial Hospital.
The new facility will be built on Milford Memorial’s existing 20 acre campus, which has served the community since 1938. The new facility will be a full-service community hospital with state-of-the-art inpatient and ambulatory care capabilities.
After completion, the hospital will provide emergency services, intensive care, surgical services, diagnostic and imaging services, inpatient dialysis, OB/GYN, inpatient rehabilitation beds, and medical/surgical beds. All patient rooms will be designed as private to improve patient privacy and provide more space for family and provider-patient interaction.
This full-service hospital will also help the organisation respond to the inevitable healthcare reform challenges and the need for expanded clinical integration and growth in ambulatory care services.
EwingCole will work closely with Bayhealth leadership on creating a plan to phase in the future Bayhealth Milford Memorial. According to bayhealth officials, the construction could begin by 2015. EwingCole is expected to complete its design within the next 18 months.
The expansion represents the largest capital project investment in Kent or Sussex County.
