Duravit' St. Trop steam shower system receives red dot award
German bathroom products company Duravit has received the 2012 red dot award for its St. Trop steam shower system in Essen.
Designed by Philippe Starck, the rectangular St.Trop steam shower features a footprint of no more than one square metre.
Inspired by a painting, the shower system is so designed that the door appears as the frame, as in a great work of art. The background is white and forms the canvas while the user becomes the motif, creating a work of natural beauty. Emphasising on the theme of art, the shower also features a sculptural stool made of heat-resistant material.
Combining art and functionality, the St.Trop shower system is designed to provide a relaxing steam bath experience.
