The facility, opened in October 2010, has been designed by H Design Group and developed by Killian Construction Company. It has a seat capacity of 3100 and houses the Panther and Lady Panther basketball and volleyball arenas.
The arena has employed a host of eco-friendly elements. It includes installation of low-flow water systems which reduce water consumption. The building has been equipped with a roof which reflects sunlight. This, coupled with solar reflective pavement materials, helps in reaping energy cost cuts. The facility also incorporates energy-efficient lighting fixtures. Presence of a dedicated space for recycling adds to the sustainability factor. Use of various green features results up to 40% of utility cost savings for the school as against traditional buildings.
