Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport to open new terminal soon


The INR1.35 billion ($27.33 million) new terminal of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore, India is set to open its new terminal on 30 January 2012.


The new terminal, spanning over 18000 square metres, is made from glass and steel. It will be equipped with a host of amenities including a central heating system as well as a central air conditioning unit. The terminal will incorporate an inline x-ray baggage inspection system which will be integrated with its baggage conveyor system.

Among the various other features of the facility include inclined arrival baggage claim carousels, escalators, public address system, Flight Information Display System, and CCTV. It will have a passenger handling capacity of 500 for domestic travellers and 200 for international passengers at a single time.
