Detroit Medical Centre breaks ground on $30 million refurbishment project
The Detroit Medical Centre in Michigan, US has broken ground on a $30 million project to upgrades its surgical facilities at Harper University and Hutzel Women's hospitals.
The project will lead to revamp of the facilities' surgical spaces spanning over an area of 55,000 square feet. The hospitals will feature four advanced operating rooms along with a pair of new isolation rooms following the facelift.
The same-day surgery zones will undergo an expansion as part of the project. There will also be creation of contemporary family-style privacy spaces which will serve the pre-surgery patients and their families. In addition, the remodelled facilities will be equipped with latest medical technology.
The project forms part of a multi-million dollar renovation project announced by the Detroit Medical Centre. Work is due for completion by the end of 2013.
