designLSM designs new interior for Quilon restaurant
UK-based designLSM has designed a new interior for Quilon restaurant in London, UK.
The restaurant now comprises the new Q Bar and a private room. The design of the facility's new interior draws reference to Quilon’s cultural origin. The Q Bar comprises a private room which has a capacity of 16 seats as well as can accommodate 35 standing. A bespoke wenge candle wall inspired by one of Kerela's Hindu temple, an imported eight feet Indian fishing boat converted into a glass topped bar, and a floor to ceiling wine wall serve as some of the predominant design features of the space. The area's ceiling is low in height and is adorned with curved wooden slats leading to wave-like-contours.
The main restaurant features jali screens to ensure privacy. The facility now also sports wall recesses with softly lit, individual hand-printed ceramic discs. The discs are suspended in the pattern of fish scales.
