#1 Via Toledo, Italy, Metro Art Station

This breathtaking station was opened in 2012, with the entrance, Quartieri Spagnoli, opening in 2013. It was the 16th station added to the Metro Line 1 and streams across one of Naple’s busiest shopping districts.
Designed by Catalan architect, Oscar Tusquets Blanca this station is one of Napoli’s Metro Art Stations with a serene theme of water and light. The inspiring station is not far from the likes of an art museum with beautiful Italian works of art, many of them local.

Curator Achille Bonito Oliva commissioned a host of striking works of art including two William Kentridge mosaics, Robert Wilson’s Light Panels and works by Achille Cevoli.
