The Dehdadi District Public Hospital located at the Forward Operating Base Dehdadi II, Afghanistan has reopened after a five-month makeover.

A new birthing room as well as a nursery have been created in the free hospital as part of the project. The walls of its X-ray room have now been fitted with lead shielding. The facility also sports a new waiting area, along with an office dedicated to the hospital director following the facelift.

The refurbished hospital has been fitted with new tiles, doors and windows while repairing its roof. Its power grid and water system has received an overhaul. The facility has also installed air conditioning systems and heaters post upgrades. Further, it now incorporates a host of new equipment such as incubators, 30 nebulizers, a new X-ray machine, sterilization equipment and baby supplies.

The project was financed via the Commanders Emergency Response Programme.
