One of the original icons of deconstrictivist architecture, Bernard Tschumi's Parc de la Villette is a public park that is organised around culture rather than nature.

In addition to the master plan, the project involved the design and construction of more than 25 buildings, promenades, covered walkways, bridges, and landscaped gardens which were completed over a period of fifteen years. A system of dispersed 'points' -- the red enameled steel follies that support different cultural and leisure activities -- is superimposed on a system of lines that emphasises movement through the park.
