Couture Homes completes new sustainable home in Old Palm
Couture Homes has completed the construction of a new green home in Old Palm, Florida, US.
The house, located on an one-acre area, has already bagged Green Certification from NAHB’s National Green Building Standard. It covers an area of 9,751 square feet under roof with its interior living space spanning 7,467 square feet.
The facility imbibes a host of eco-friendly elements. Its design offers it a north-south orientation which cuts down its cooling load. The residence has been equipped with larger soffits and a massive loggia. This offers indoor / outdoor living space as well as protects the glass from sunrays.
The facility has also been equipped with double-pane low-e Andersen HPI windows, and has made use of foam insulation to seal the attic. Other green features include extensive use of low- or no-VOC paints, along with reclaimed hardwood throughout.
