Construction begins on Renaissance Hotel at Chopin Airport in Poland
German construction company Alpine Bau Deutschland AG has begun construction on a new €32 million ($39.94 million), 5-star branded Renaissance Hotel at Chopin Airport in Warsaw, Poland.
The new Renaissance at Chopin Airport has been designed by a Poland-based design practice Jems Architekci Sp. z o.o. It will be built in front of Terminal 2 on an existing multi-storey car park.
The eight-storey hotel will have a total area of 16,750 square meters and will feature 225 guest rooms, five conference rooms, a ballroom, swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, restaurants and a bar. When completed, the hotel can accommodate up to 400 guests.
The design of the building will hint of aeronautic references. The arcades and the parapet wall will sport gentle curves, which will emphasize the aerodynamic shape of the building. The hotel will have two functional areas, namely the hotel and the conference/banquet facilities, which will be interlinked by means of an internal circulation system, which consist of a hall and foyer space at the ground-floor level.
The guestrooms along with restaurant, bar, fitness club, and administration areas will be located in the main body of the building. The lower, two-storey wing will house the conference/banquet component with a ball room, two conference room sections, the conference component foyer, and back of the house facilities.
