Community Health Network breaks ground on rehab hospital in Indiana


Community Health Network , in a joint venture with CenterreHealthcare, has broken ground on a $23 million Community Rehabilitation Hospital at its Community Hospital North campus in Indianapolis, Indiana.


Encompassing an area of 63,000 square feet, the new hospital will be located along the I-69 corridor in Indianapolis and will replace the existing Hook Rehabilitation unit located at Community Hospital East.

The facility will offer a host of services dedicated for neurological conditions and brain injuries. The hospital will accommodate a 28 bed brain injury wing and a 16 bed stroke unit.

The hospital will also include private rooms, Activities of Daily Living (ADL) suite, and specially-equipped bariatric rooms. All the private rooms of the hospital feature family sleeper chairs and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)-accessible bathrooms.

The additional amenities at the hospital comprise special walking path around the courtyard, and outdoor healing gardens. The walking path have different surfaces comprising of brick, gravel, wood deck and concrete. The rehab hospital is scheduled to be completed by mid 2013.
