Coltness High School opens in Scotland


The Coltness High School in Coltness, Scotland has opened following a £26 million ($41.62 million) renovation project.


The Coltness High School project spanned for three years and involved renovation of the main building. The project was undertaken by Graham Construction Company. Certain outdated sections of the old building were demolished along with remodeling of the existing shell.

The ground floor of the new main building accommodates a bright and chic dining and social area that is complete with buddy booths, a fully-equipped library and an office block. The first floor accommodates English department, as well as social subjects and pupil support spaces.

The second floor houses Mathematics, modern languages and support for learning departments, while the art department and religious education occupy the top floor of the building. The art department also has a kiln room for pottery and space equipped with projectors for project demonstration.

The new building features broader stairwells and corridors. Each floor has water coolers. To increase accessibility, elevators have been added to the building. The renovated building also features a larger storage area.
