Cochrane Design shortlisted for International Design & Architecture Award 2012
Cochrane Design has been shortlisted for the International Design & Architecture Award 2012 for the renovation of a bathroom of a five-storey Georgian House in the UK.
The project revolved around redeveloping the bathroom of a grade II listed house. Cochrane Design redesigned the bathroom by staying within the parameters of the listing restrictions. Scope of work involved addition of a curved wall displaying detailed mosaic rose pattern, which surrounds the corian bath.
To add glamour to the space, a large chandelier was added. The walls, floor and ceilings were entirely covered with the Bissaza mosaic tiles. The tiles were complemented by contemporary fittings. Further luxury was added by encapsulating the shower with a floor-to-ceiling glass which maximised the impact as well as utilised the space.
Additional work involved rewiring the chandelier on the Lutron light system to achieve correct IP rating.
