Cincinnati airport to reopen renovated Concourse A soon

The Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport in the US is set to reopen its new Concourse A on 15 May 2012 after a $36.5 million refurbishment.

The 16-gate concourse will incorporate new ticketing and check-in counters, as well as new passenger seating areas with electrical outlets and charging ports following the makeover. The revamped facility will also feature improved restrooms, and will offer upgraded cell phone service.

The concourse will now consist of jet bridges to allow passengers board and disembark airplanes. There will also be creation of an upgraded pedestrian tunnel as part of the project. The tunnel will be adorned with images of past and present captured by local photographers.

A large part of the project has been financed by capital improvements funds procured via an agreement between the airport and its airlines.
