Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to construct new specialty care center in King of Prussia
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has announced to construct new 115,000 square feet Specialty Care Center in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania by replacing the existing centre located on nearby Mall Boulevard.
Opened in 1997, the current centre is comprised of two buildings occupying 70,000 square feet. To be located in the Village at Valley Forge, the new centre will provide an additional 45,000 square feet, with the ability to expand up to a total of 195,000 square feet.
To allow for future program growth and response to increasing demand for medical services, the new facility will house all of the existing programs and specialties and add a new ambulatory surgery center to provide outpatient general and specialty surgical services to children of all ages.
The new facility will be staffed by CHOP’s pediatric surgeons and anesthesiologists, along with a full-time staff of pediatric nurses.
Construction work on the new centre will begin in summer 2013 and is scheduled to be completed in early 2015.
