Cevisama 2013 Fair: Preview

Spanish tile industry is showcasing its latest innovations at the 31st Cevisama trade fair in Valencia, Spain from 5-8 February 2013.

The Cevisama 2013 fair is offering a showcase for all the latest products, trends and technologies from Spanish tile manufacturers. The fair has been around for over 30 years, and brings together the tile, ceramics and natural stone industry from around Europe. This year, the fair will host more than 700 brands and will expand to eight pavilions of Feria Valencia.

Colour makes a powerful comeback in this year’s event. Tiles and mosaics in bold candy colours and decorative finishes are set to brighten up interiors and offer a complement to the more austere, industrial aesthetic of recent years. These vivid statements would not be limited just to the bathroom; rather, a feature wall with glazed ceramics will also add a burst of colour and character to any space.

Ceramics are reinvented in muted earthy tones, handmade effects, brick and honeycomb shapes and subtle nature-inspired or folk influenced prints, proposing a calm, timeless and comforting background for relaxed living. The combination of artisan style ceramics in muted colours with natural materials and textiles suggests a simple, natural luxury for interiors.

Tiles with faded painted wood effects are the latest aesthetic development, following the success of timber effect ceramics over the past few years. Despite the ‘well worn’ appearance, these tiles are made from highly durable, easy-care rectified UV- resistant porcelain- suitable for interiors, exteriors and high traffic areas. The collections offer the opportunity to mix and match different shades and formats for the ultimate “industrial meets shabby chic” look.

This year Cevisama celebrates its 31st edition under the theme "All together Cevisama", aiming to encourage the synergy between all the represented sectors.
