CCISD breaks ground on Mary Carroll High School in Texas


Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD) has broken ground on new Mary Carroll High School in Copus Christi, Texas designed by Gignac & Associates LLP.


Located at 3750 Cimarron Blvd. near Cimarron and Lipes Boulevards, the new high school will be a 380,000 square feet facility. It will feature standard and specialised classrooms; athletic facilities; science and computer labs; fine arts area and library; and administration, cafeteria, and support areas. The plans also include provisions for additional 12 core classrooms and a 1,000 seat auditorium.

The new school will include a host of sustainable construction elements, and is being aspired for LEED certification from the US Green Building Council.

Construction of the facility will entail an investment of $70 million and is scheduled for completion in 2014-2015. Upon completion, the new school will replace the current Carroll High School. Fulton Coastcon will undertake construction of the facility.
