Carrington College's Mesquite, Texas campus bags LEED Silver
Carrington College's Mesquite, Texas campus in the US has secured LEED Silver from the US Green Building Council.
The campus provides programmes in medical and dental assisting and imbibes a host of eco-friendly elements. It includes installation of energy-efficient HVAC system, equipment, and appliances. The lighting fixtures fitted in the facility too, run low on energy usage.
The building has been equipped with low-flow and motion-activation plumbing fixtures which lead to a fall in energy consumption. The landscaping of the property has also been designed to reap water savings. Use of regionally-sourced and reclaimed building materials, green cleaning products, and storage and recycling bins throughout the campus add to its sustainability. The facility also features bicycle storage and changing rooms which boosts the green initiative.
