Carlbrook School breaks ground on new male dorm

Carlbrook School in Virginia, US has broken ground on a new dormitory for male students.

The dorm will replicate the style of the on-campus dormitory for girls constructed two years back. The new facility will cover an area 10,000 square feet and will have a capacity to accommodate 88 male students. It will be located across campus from the academic village, hence offering easy walking access to the main commons building and dining hall.

The dorm will consist of sleeping quarters as well as a host of common areas. The common areas will function as additional space for academic studying, community meetings and camaraderie. In addition, the students of the property will be allowed access to an exercise room.

The project forms part of the on-going capital improvement and development of the school and is slated to be over by December 2012.
