Capita Symonds designs new Welcome Centre in UK
UK-based architectural practice Capita Symonds has designed the new Welcome Centre hospital retail outlet at Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) in the UK for University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UH Bristol).
Estimated to cost £5 million ($7.65 million), the new Welcome Centre is said to be one of the most innovative of its kind in the UK.
Upon completion, it will provide approximately 873 square metre of modern retail space in an improved, glass-fronted entry point to the hospital. Apart from that the scheme also includes enhanced wayfinding and reception services.
To lease retail space for major retail brand, the welcome Centre will accommodate specialist hospital retailer, Stock Shop, Marks and Spencer, Costa Coffee and WHSmith.
The Welcome Centre is scheduled to open its doors to the customers in December 2013.
