C.W. Driver wins contract for $25 million education centre in California

US-based construction management services provider C.W. Driver has secured a contract for $25 million new education centre for the Foothill-De Anza Community College District in Sunnyvale, California.

To be located on a 9.2 acres site at the former Onizuka Air Force Station site near Moffett Business Park in Sunnyvale, the new education centre will be a multi-level building, which will accommodate classrooms, conference rooms and administrative offices, as well as a food service area.

The new centre will be enveloped by a courtyard and will also include development of ample parking space. The scheme has been designed by US-based architectural firm Lionakis. The construction of the facility is likely to span for three years and will be built to meet LEED standards.

The project is being funded by general obligation bonds approved by district voters in 2006.
