Bury Design presents 124' Ocean Cruiser Yacht concept
Australian yacht designer Bury Design has presented the design concept of the new 124' Ocean Cruiser Yacht, which is a large, modern deep ocean cruiser with a Mediterranean style.
Promising good speed potential, the Ocean Cruiser Yacht features a hull, which boasts an easily driven, modern shape with a fine entry and flat run aft.
The superyacht features a central cockpit on the deck with twin settees, with one for casual lounging and the other for more formal setting. A helm area and another comfortable lounge is located aft of this area, which is split to allow access to the aft cockpit.
The side deck can be accessed through a gate in the coaming forward of the helm. The mainsheet traveller is on an arch, which also provides support for a full awning stretching forward and stowing in the deckhouse forward of the main companionway. It is created to provide a sense of security as it is designed with no mainsheet on the deck and a fully closable cockpit. All working sail sheets and halyards are on captive reel winches, hidden in the coamings.
For the entertainment of the guests, the yacht features an expansive saloon forward, which features a large dining area to starboard and an informal lounge and navigation area to port. Under the saloon area, the engine room is featured that has full headroom and can be accessed through a door to starboard of the keel trun.
A lower lounge to port and a convertible children’s play area/library/fourth guest cabin is located towards starboard. Forward of this is the galley, which features a crew mess and crew cabins to accommodate six crews, each with ensuites.
In addition to that, the yacht offers guest cabins towards the travelling aft of the main saloon. A double cabin is located to the port and twin to starboard, both with attached bathrooms.
Taking care of the needs of the owner, the further aft features the owner’s cabin, which is designed with a large ensuite with a walk-in wardrobe. The cabin is designed with a raised area under the aft glass with a desk and lounge as well as steps up to the aft cockpit.
The superyacht has been designed with a flexible layout of the machinery areas, minimising transmitted vibration and noise. Using the on board battery bank as the energy source, it is possible to motor, for limited distances, in complete silence, with this system.
