Bunbury Hospital to embark on Phase II of expansion


Bunbury Hospital in Western Australia is set to begin the second phase of a $14.9 million expansion.


The project will be developed by Bunbury builder Perkins Limited. Phase II of the expansion project will involve increase in the number of treatment areas in the emergency unit of the hospital from 15 to 27. The second phase is due for completion by early 2013.

The third and final phase of the project will include creation of a fast-track area and short stay unit. This unit will have a bed capacity of ten and will serve as a dedicated observation area for emergency short stay or overnight patients. These facilities are scheduled to operate by 2013 end.

The project has received a sum of $14.1 million from the Federal Government.
