Grand Agriseeds Technology has awarded a contract to global design practice Broadway Malyan Limited for designing its global headquarter, research and development, hospitality and visitor centre in China.

The scheme, dubbed as Shennong Valley Resort, will be developed in Baoting County, north of Sanya on Hainan Island. Sprawling over 35 acres site, the resort will be nestled between the Qixianling Seven Angels mountain ridge and the terraced rice fields of the valley.

The scheme involves construction of luxury private villas, large club house villas as well as a five-star resort hotel, operated by the Intercontinental Hotel Group and sporting conference and spa facilities. The property will be designed to offer the guests views of the ridge and the valleys below. The project also includes development of a new hybrid rice museum.

The detailed design of the scheme will start in mid-2012 with construction pencilled to begin by early 2013.
