Broadway Apartments rehabilitation project wins LEED Platinum
The Broadway Apartments rehabilitation project in Fort Myers, Florida, US has secured LEED Platinum from the US Green Building Council.
It is the first affordable housing development in Lee County and Florida to bag the certification. The project has been developed by Chris-Tel Construction. The rehabilitated property will house over 40 residents and imbibes a host of green features.
All the units of the facility have been equipped with new solar water heater system. This will reap up to 80% of cost cuts for water heating. The development also comprises low volume plumbing systems.
The property further features high-performance HVAC units, efficient windows, as well as Energy Star-certified fixtures. Incorporation of efficient insulation systems exceeding the building code standards adds to the sustainability of the facility.
