Boryspil International Airport opens new terminal


Boryspil International Airport in Kiev, Ukraine has opened a new $600 million terminal.


The new terminal D covers an area of 107,000 square metres which makes it the largest airport terminal in Ukraine. It incorporates 11 jet bridges which allows it to service up to six large and five medium jets at any given time. This enables the terminal to service 20 planes at a single time.

The design of the terminal complies by European standards. The facility sports moving walkways, as well as a baggage handling system with a handling capacity of 3,000 items per hour. The terminal has a capacity to handle up to 15 million passengers annually.

Construction of the terminal was completed in a span of three-and-a-half years.
