Bloom Table Lamp by Patrick Jouin
French designer Patrick Jouin has designed a new lamp named Bloom Table Lamp, which opens up like a flower.
Designed for MGX, Bloom is inspired by MGX’s One_Shot.MGX stool and the way plants respond to environment. The new lamp has been designed to mimic actions of flowers. In a closed, bud-like state, the lamp emits a soft glow. A gentle push opens up the petal shaped panel and emits more light.
The lamp, including its hinge, is a single piece object with 3D prints. It exploits digital technology, which has been used in prototyping and 3D manufacturing of the Bloom table lamp.
The design is first converted into a CAD file and then this technical drawing is converted into an .MGX file, which the production software uses to render the design as 3D printable.
