Bishop International Airport completes expansion


The Bishop International Airport in Michigan, US has completed $16.8 million expansion project.


The expansion work included a larger Transportation Security Administration area, which was opened early in October 2012. The project also added 47,000 square feet to the terminals along with four gates. The width of the corridor linking two sections of the airport has been doubled.

The expansion project has helped in increasing the passenger capacity upto two million, which is double the previous capacity.

Federal funding contributed $7 million towards the project with airport reserve funds used for the rest. The Bishop International Airport was dedicated on 13 November 2012.
