Birse Civils to develop second phase of Stockton High Street regeneration scheme

Birse Civils, a Balfour Beatty brand, has been awarded a contract to develop the second phase of the regeneration of Stockton High Street, which is designed to provide a public space that will attract investment and business to the area.

Improving the local environment for residents and visitors, the £1.9 million ($2.95 million) second phase will add a further 4000 square metre of public realm, which will pave to Stockton's main shopping street.

During the first phase of the scheme, Birse Civils realigned the existing highway and introduced a bus turning facility and car parking area, in addition to the installation of new paving, street furniture and landscaping.
