Biennial festival’s summer of success prompts it to move to being yearly
The London Festival of Architecture (LFA), which has taken place biennially since it was established in 2008, is to become an annual event as of next July.
The organisers say the decision was prompted by the success of this year's event, which took the theme The Playful City and featured 16 days of exhibitions, lectures and events across the capital during what they called 'an unprecedented summer of cultural and sporting attractions'.
Peter Murray, chairman of the festival's co-organiser New London Architecture (NLA) and founding director of the LFA said: 'The sheer energy and enthusiasm that has been invested in this year's festival by many hard-working organisations and individuals strongly suggests that an annual event would be well received.'
LFA is curated by The Architecture Foundation, the British Council, New London Architecture and RIBA London.
