Belk undergoes facelift of its Northgate Mall store in Chattanooga
Belk is carrying out upgrades worth $3.5 million to its Northgate Mall store in Chattanooga, Tennessee, US.
The project will create an additional 7,000 square feet of space for its kids shop near the main entryway of the store. Work will also involve relocation of its 22,000 square feet home shop from the other end of the Hixson mall to inside the main store covering an area of 113,000 square feet.
The remodelled facility will sport a modern layout and décor with features including upgraded display fixtures, tile flooring, and ceilings. It will install lighting systems running low on energy consumption. The store will also sport new restrooms and fitting rooms following the makeover. Further, plans are on to enlarge the shopping area and provide expanded merchandise by incorporating some back-office space in the main store, as reported by timesfreepress.com.
The kids shop is scheduled to open by June 2012.
