BD Barcelona launches Chandlo dressing table
Spanish firm BD Barcelona has launched the Chandlo dressing table.
The design of the furniture was originally conceived by London-based design duo Doshi Levien as a prototype. The item derives its name from the moon- or bindi-shaped framed mirror positioned in the centre of the table.
The piece is characterised by geometric forms and shades which draw inspiration from the German modernist design school named Bauhaus. Its design is also reminiscent of the pared-down aesthetic of the early 20th-century De Stijl art movement. Chandlo is available with a rotating stool. The stool bears leather upholstery and features fine lines with silver embroidery.
The item has been showcased at an installation known as Das Haus – Interiors on Stage at furniture trade fair IMM Cologne 2012 held in Germany. It now forms part of BD Barcelona’s portfolio of designs.
