BAM wins Plymouth technical college contract in UK
UK-based construction major BAM Construct UK Ltd has secured a £7.9 million ($12.33 million) contract for the construction of Plymouth University Technical College (UTC) in Davenport, UK.
Scope of work involves conversion of the former Parkside School on Park Avenue in Devonport into a contemporary learning space for UTC. The design of the UTC will resonate with the requirements of the specialism of marine engineering and advanced manufacturing facilities.
The facility will have modern workspaces and flexible workshop spaces to provide state-of-the-art engineering facilities. The UTC will also accommodate flexible teaching spaces, catering and dining areas and specialist science labs.
Bam, to build the new campus, will remodel and reclad the usable areas of the existing building. The company will also construct new buildings to provide a complete learning space for the students.
