Balfour Beatty wins Red Hat's HQ renovation contract
UK-based Balfour Beatty Construction has secured a contract for the renovation of global headquarters of Red Hat Incorporated in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Red Hat plans to relocate its headquarters from its current site in North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus to an office tower, located at 100 E. Davie Street in downtown Raleigh. The new office tower is a 19 storey building, which will thereupon be called as Red Hat Tower.
The project encompasses renovation of 300,000-365,000 square feet of class A interior office space. Staged in various phases, the project aims at securing LEED Gold certification for Commercial Interiors.
Scope of work involves selective demolition, reconfiguration of the internal spaces and improvements to the facade and ground level exterior of the building. The renovation has been designed by US-based architectural practice Interior Architects. The project is scheduled for a wrap up in 2013.
