Balfour Beatty completes housing project for US Army
Balfour Beatty Communities LLC, a subsidiary of Balfour Beatty Capital Group Incorporated, has completed a residential project for the US Department of the Army, called Fort Gordon housing project.
Under the terms of the contract, Balfour Beatty has constructed 310 new homes and renovated 577 existing homes. The project also involved construction of a 4200 square foot community center, which accommodates LifeWorks activity rooms, a fitness center, Internet café, and Community Corner.
Other amenities at Fort Gordon include playgrounds, bus stops and two Soldiers Homes to house residents displaced by work being performed in their homes, as well as warrior transition soldiers temporarily located at the installation.
The company completed the scheme within its budgeted $92 million funding and almost eight months ahead of schedule completion date.
