AUC breaks ground on $30 million campus expansion project

American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) has broken ground on a $30 million project for expanding its St. Maarten Campus in St. Maarten, Netherlands.

The expansion of the St. Maarten campus has been staged in multiple phases. Phase I of the expansion involves construction of two new academic buildings, which will accommodate an anatomy lab, clinical skills training lab, and simulation center, as well as additional study and learning spaces for students.

The project is being developed by DeVry Incorporated, the company which owns the AUC. The project is the largest construction project for DeVry. The new building will be the heart of the AUC campus. Construction on the two new academic buildings are likely to be complete by August 2013, in time for AUC’s fall semester.
