Swedish lock manufacturer ASSA ABLOY will add a stainless steel finish door closer to its existing door closer range to offer increased functionality.

Featuring a stainless steel arm, the new door closer is available in two variants like DC500 and DC700 cam motion closers. To meet the growing customer demand, the new stainless steel range will eventually be extended to include all models of ASSA ABLOY door closers.

To combat damage to the entrance and exit doors caused by high winds or aggressive usage, a DC500 back check variant has also been introduced. It enables the door to close slowly to prevent the door leaf from being thrown open, which prevents damage to the door, door frame and door furniture.

Characterised by flexibility and ease of use, the angle and resistance of the back check can be varied according to the requirements of the application. The stainless steel option provides aesthetic choice, while the back check variant allows the door closer to be adjusted to safety requirements within each application.

Suitable for a variety of applications, the aluminium range will be available towards the end of 2012.
