Arlington Heights Memorial Library to undergo $2.8 million renovation

Arlington Heights Memorial Library located in Illinois, US is set to undergo a $2.8 million interior renovation.

The renovation will involve creation of various new areas. A Marketplace area will be created that will feature an expanded collection of popular books. It will also feature a vending café and a space for dynamic programs, displays and exhibits.

Additional small-group meeting rooms are being added to meet the demand for more private spaces at the library for meetings, tutoring, studying, book

discussions and more. An inviting space to relax with a good book will be created in the northwest corner of the library which will also feature comfortable seating and a fireplace.

An improved training centre will be constructed to offer more, free computer

training classes where residents can learn the technical skills. The help desk will be reshaped to make it more accessible for patrons and library offices will be moved to the second floor.

The renovation will be paid through existing library funds. The work is expected to be completed by mid-April 2013.
