Anne Boenisch creates new Plissee Sideboard
Berlin-based furniture designer Anne Boenisch has come up with the new Plissee Sideboard.
The furniture is characterised by frames made of oak wood and sliding doors. The doors comprise polyester plissé fabric which slides open through a brass rod placed within the oiled wood frame. The door fabric is designed to create an ombre colour effect which highlights the gliding motion of the opening and closing of the doors.
The colour of the delicate folded fabric adorning the doors of the sideboard gradually fades from pink to white which evokes a playful tone. The look of the piece is complemented by the clean lines of the frame and offers a look of elegance to the sideboard. The item measures 1600mm in length, 1110mm in height, and 450mm in thickness.
The item has been showcased at the Milan Design Week 2012 held in Italy.
