Ameristar East Chicago Casino Hotel in Indiana, US has completed a $7 million facelift.

Tonn & Blank Construction of Michigan City served as the general contractor of the project. Work involves redesigning of all the 288 guest rooms, corridors and the fitness centre of the 15-storey hotel.

Brown, cream, rust, red and green serve as the predominant shades in the revamped facility. The hotel has now been adorned with new carpeting, ceramic flooring, wallpaper, paint, furniture. It also comprises upgraded bathrooms.

All the guestrooms of the hotel now sport a 42” plasma HDTV, a refrigerator and in-room safe. The standard rooms have oversized soaking tubs and separate glass-enclosed shower stalls post overhaul.

The hotel's seven presidential suites feature a bar and sitting area with a TV in one room and a bedroom with another plasma TV. The suites have Jacuzzi tubs with separate large shower stalls in the main bathroom, and a separate half-bathroom.

The property also features a junior suite which has been fitted with grass weave wallpaper. The fitness centre of the hotel now consists of new equipment, and has substituted its existing ceiling and carpeting.

The project was completed in a period of seven months.
