Alvaro de Ferranti, Neisha Crosland present new collection of tiles

UK-based floor and wall designer Alvaro de Ferranti has collaborated with textile designer Neisha Crosland for a new collection of tiles called Florentine Collection.

The handmade encaustic tiles come in four designs with a palette of three colours in each, from soft and earthy to faded-bright. Parquet design is available in Pumice Cream, Buff Grey, and Dove Grey; Molly in Granite, Dove Grey, and Pistachio colours; Domino in Slate, Coral, and Parma Violet colours while Aladdin is available in Buff, Smoke, and Lilac Grey colours.

Wooden parquet floors and the architectural motifs found within a recent wallpaper collection have been developed for use on this collection of handmade cement tiles. The aged, weather-worn appearance of buildings within ancient city walls has inspired the appearance of the tiles with their dusty, pastel pigment finish. They can also be waxed to look like well-worn pebbles. The appearance of faded frescoes such as those by Piero della Francesca imparts a ‘florentine’ mood.

They are available in 20cm x 20cm size. It costs £6 ($9) per tile or £150 ($233) per square metre. The tiles are suitable for indoor hallways, conservatories, exterior pathways, bathrooms and kitchens, floors or walls.
