ALPINE to build new campus for German University
Austrian construction company ALPINE Bau Deutschland AG has secured a contract from the NRW Soest Building and Real Estate Department for phase 1 of the Hamm-Lippstadt University redevelopment project, Lippstadt campus, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
As per the terms of the contract, ALPINE will offer turnkey solution for the scheme, which involves designing and construction of two buildings, which will together have an area of approximately 8350 square metres.
The new campus will have traditional design, with limited use of semi-finished and prefabricated elements. From outside, the two buildings will feature back-ventilated clinker surfaces with aluminum window and mullion-transom structures. Both the buildings will have rooftop technical centre. The design of the technical centre will also feature solid, clinkered external walls.
One of the two buildings will house the refectory featuring an associated large kitchen, as well as offices for the university administration staff; while the other building will have seminar rooms, lecture theatres and a media centre with library.
Construction on the scheme is scheduled to begin by the end of June 2012 and is penciled for completion by mid-2013.
